Description

The Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam is a vast maze of rivers, swamps and islands, home to floating markets, Khmer pagodas and villages surrounded by rice paddies. Boats are the main means of transportation, and tours of the region often start in nearby Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon) or Can Tho, a bustling town in the heart of the delta.

A

Day 1: HO CHI MINH CITY – VINH LONG – AN BÌNH ISLAND – HOMESTAY // B,L,D
8:00 AM: Transfer from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city center to Vinh Long and from Vinh Long Harbour to Ut Trinh Homestay to check in and lunch. After lunch, the rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals and to enjoy the peaceful time. …Have a cup tea when enjoying the traditional music at Ut Trinh home.
Then, biking on the village paths about 45-60 minutes. It will be so amazing to bike on village paths to see the local farms, houses, real life and the ancestral ways to pick up fruits in Mekong Delta.
Cooking some dishes with the owners. We enjoy diner and have cup of tea or rice wine when talking together. You can ask the locals about the culture, people, history of this Island. They do not mind to answer some personal questions. Overnight in a private room of local house (Ut Trinh House).

Day 2: HOMESTAY – PHƯỚC HẬU VEGETABLE FARMS – HOMESTAY // B,L,D
The cock will wake you up for an exploring day. Have a breakfast and boat trip to Phuoc Hau village. After biking about 30 minutes, we will explore the local life, rice fields … even we can learn how to farm the green vegetable or rice from the local farmers. Biking back to our boat. Our boat will go along the floating village.
Stop to visit Vinh Long market in the town. This is the best choice for you to take pictures of fish, shrimps, prawns, crabs, snakes, rice-field rats, tropical fruits, vegetables…
The optional lunch can be served on board or at local house.
After lunch, we’ll continue to visit the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. Then, we visit nursery garden for you to contact the real famous farmers – Mr Tiger or his son who is very successful in Vietnam agriculture. We will enjoy some kinds of fruits from his garden
Come back Ut Trinh homestay. Refresh yourself by a warm shower or cold drinks. We enjoy diner and overnight at homestay (Ut Trinh House).

Day 3: HOMESTAY – TÂN PHONG – CAI BE HO CHI MINH CITY // B
After breakfast, say good bye the owner of homestay The program will start with a visit of Cai Be floating market. Come to Tân Phong island, biking or walking on village paths will be so amazing to see the local farms, houses, real life and have an opportunity to see farmers picking up their fruits on the ancestral ways in Mekong Delta… where we can also see how they make rice-net for spring-rolls, sew coconut-leaves for cottage roof and specially see how they wave the dried water-hyacynth to make many products: baskets, bags, hats, wallets, shoes…
Come to Tân Phong island, biking / walking on village paths will be so amazing to see the local farms, houses, real life and have an opportunity to see farmers picking up their fruits on the ancestral ways in Mekong Delta… Where we can also see how they make rice-net for spring-rolls, sew coconut-leaves for cottage roof and specially see how they wave the dried water-hyacynth to make many products: baskets, bags, hats, wallets, shoes… Finish the trip in Caibe pier. Transfer back to HCMC.
